Appeals may be filed with the Cook County Assessor's Office, the Cook County Board of Review, or the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board (PTAB). We verify licenses where Illinois requires them (IDFPR for surveyors, roofers, home inspectors and Registered Interior Designers; the Illinois Department of Public Health for plumbers; the Illinois Emergency Management Agency for radon professionals; the Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois (ARDC) for attorneys handling property tax appeals; the Illinois Department of Insurance for insurance agents; the Illinois Department of Agriculture for landscapers who apply pesticides or herbicides; and local licensing or registration for electricians, contractors, painters, carpenters, landscapers and pet-care businesses) before sharing any recommendation.
